Freezing in the rain.
I froze my but on the river today. Quite odd weather too! I left Everett this morning in completely clear sky's and by the time I hit Sultan it was raining cats and dogs. The temp was around forty degrees and with the rain it felt even cooler. Why do I like to torture myself like this? I ask this every time I wake up at 04:00. I hooked two steelhead and lost both. I am getting a little sick of the crowds. I think this has to be one of the worse years ever for the number of people fishing. I might just stay away for a while until all of the holiday vacationers go back to work. The clouds did lift before dark and allowed me to take some pictures of the fresh snow that was just layed on the mountains.

I found out two of my pictures are going to be published! The first one will be in a new book by Dave Vedder called "Jig fishing for steelhead". It's a picture of one of the jigs I tied and took a picture of. The second is a picture of me with a steelhead in the magazine "Salmon and steelhead journal".
