Finally!

Tis the season to catch steelhead, Falala la la la. Ok I'm not the next Bing Crosby, but you who worship the mighty anadromus rainbow (AKA steelhead) know what I am talking about. I made a trip to one of my favorite spots on a river I will divulge only as the little "W". The water was still high and off colored from the recent pineapple express we had last week. I still found a nice 5lb buck. I lost another one also but we all know that don't count. It was raining all morning so I didn't feel like taking the camera to the water with me, or I could have had a few more pictures. I saw two other steelhead hooked in the same spot and ran into a few guys I know who said fishing was pretty good yesterday too. I got bored after a while and decided to give Rieter hatchery a shot. Boy was it crowded. I think I got the only parking spot left. As you can imagine I didn't find much bank space. I did run into Dan Cartright on the way out, he was carrying a nice 12 hen. I finally squeezed in next to Art the old fart (pet name for one of my customers). He and I shot the bull for half an hour until I got sick of people casting over my line and all of the snags in the water. In all not a bad day. Next week I'm going to go hit the Bogachiel with a good friend.

Untill then .....................................................
