Fort Casey (Again)!
08/17/2004
Yes I'm getting into a rut, I fished Casey today. Caught the 3:30pm ferry to the island. Hit the beach by 4:00. As soon as we got the first line in the fog hit and the wind went nuts. On the good side the water was much cleaner this week, and there was NO pressure. We had the beach to our selves. Grant and I did each catch the only that hit our lines for four hours of fishing. Grants was a nice fish in the 8-9lb range and mine was an incredible 12lbs. It hit like a freight train and made three line striping runs. I thought for the longest time it was a king and was still in doubt if really was a silver while it was flopping on the beach. This was the first fish I have ever had to chase down the beach. I was using Maxima's new fluorocarbon for leader (10lb.) and was very impressed. Nice knot strength, no abrasion problems. Dare I say but it may actually become one of my standards. And I hate fluorocarbon!
Coming soon! Updates on project "Coyote"
